The short answer to the question above is that I work with ALL styles of music. Of course there are some that I prefer more then others, but for the most part I have had an opportunity to work with just about every major style of music found here in the western world. This is one of the things that I love about my job and it certainly keeps things interesting. It does require some work on my part to ensure that I can understand where each client is coming from and that I have the knowledge of their particular genre to be able to deliver a product we're both proud of.
I'm not the type of producer that pushes (or forces) an artist or band into a certain "box" that I feel will be best for them. Of course I do always want to push and challenge my clients, but when it come to discussing what a given record should sound like, I look to the artist first.
What do they want to sound like? What do they currently sound like? What are their goals and dreams for the future? What's their live show like? What artists/bands do they listen too? What are their favorite records, and why? What are their strengths? What are their weaknesses?
Questions like those help to ensure that I get on the same page as my clients as quickly as possible. I also immerse myself in the music they love and listen to. Then it's my job to help them craft a record that takes all of these things into account. BUT, that is also the absolute best version of this vision.
If you have time, check out just a few examples of different genre's I've produced through the years. If there's a certain genre your looking for that isn't represented here feel free to email me!
